Investment Philosophy
I approach investing as the ownership of businesses, not as the trading of securities.
The focus is on long-term capital allocation into companies with durable competitive advantages, strong fundamentals, and the ability to reinvest capital at attractive returns.
Market fluctuations are not a guide but an opportunity. Short-term price movements are often disconnected from underlying business value and should not influence investment decisions.
Risk is defined as the permanent loss of capital. A margin of safety is essential to protect against uncertainty in business outcomes, management execution, and unforeseen events.
Investment decisions are based on a simple framework:
- Does the business have a durable competitive advantage?
- Is management rational, trustworthy, and aligned with shareholders?
- Does the price offer a sufficient margin of safety?
The quality of investment outcomes is driven by the quality of decisions, which in turn depends on habits and discipline over time.
I focus on building a simple and repeatable process:
- Surrounding myself with the right people
- Thinking more and acting less
- Mastering the ability to say no
- Avoiding mistakes rather than seeking brilliance
- Continuously learning and refining my understanding
- Delaying gratification in favor of long-term outcomes
- Embracing the time required for compounding
- Letting market volatility serve the process, not dictate it
The objective is not to be consistently right, but to make rational decisions and improve over time.
